This may include tracking accounting and shop records, warranty reimbursement records and inventory of parts, while staying up-to-date on new regulations. Savvy fleet managers realize that preventative maintenance (PM) contributes to safety, reduces failures and breakdowns, lowers cost, extends equipment life and improves trade-in/resale value. Hands-on, you could be working on anything from a fire truck engine to the inner workings of a mobile gantry crane.
