Parks & Landscape Maintenance is one of the most satisfying and gratifying areas of Public Works. Green is good, but sometimes a little chain sawing and chipping fills the needs of those who love the smells and sounds of removing that which is no longer viable. For the more down-to-earth among us, tree biology and pruning can be a career wake-up call.
The parks division is responsible for the maintenance of all public parks, street medians and feature beds, street trees and sidewalks. The parks division also staffs and manages the graffiti abatement program.
Landscape maintenance oversees the planting, weeding and irrigation of public parks and feature beds. So if the great outdoors calls to you , PWA can put you on the neatly trimmed path to career success.
